It is important when dealing with early stage inventions that confidential discussions and sharing of information take place. Confidential disclosure agreements are an essential tool to facilitate the flow of information. Please contact the IMO for assistance. These precedents are provided as an example only, and may not be suitable for your needs. Items highlighted in yellow indicate information that must be filled in. NOTE: the "One-Way (Disclosure of Inventions)" is provided for inventors disclosing aspects of their invetion to others, while the "One-Way (Project Collaborations)" is for ongoing research collaborations, usually pursuant to a grant or other research contract. The "Two-Way (Project Collaborations)" is to be used when both parties will each be disclosing confidential information to the other party.

| To ensure that all ethical protocols are in place prior to account establishment and to capture data for Research Office records and statistics, all research accounts are to be authorized and established by the Research Office. This form sets out the information required, and the procedure to be followed. | |

To ensure that Lakehead University is able to comply with reporting requirements to the Government of Canada, any research agreements entered into with any party must be categorized and information given to the Innovation Management Office. This information affects Lakehead rankings and funding (such as the Federal Indirect Costs of Research program). All Lakehead involved with contracts or grants with those outside of the University, where any portion of the support received under the contract or grant may be used for research, are asked to please fill out this form and send the information, along with a copy of the contract, grant approval letter, or grant application, to the Innovation Management Office. |

Project Demonstration Fund
|
The Innovation Management Office has access to limited funds to assist in supporting further development of research projects to bring them farther along the road to commercialization. The entire amount will not necessarily be allocated each year. While there is some flexibility, it is expected that individual awards will be in the range of $200 to $3000. |
